Medical Services

The Medical Services Unit at Hanley Center is a detoxification, stabilization unit with 24-hour admission process available for chemically dependent clients.

Upon admission to Hanley Center, a nurse from the skilled nursing unit will greet the patient and conduct a health assessment, including a medical history, physical exam, evaluation of safety and pain management needs, and an assessment for any infectious diseases. Within 24 hours of admission, the patient will receive a physical that includes blood work and a tuberculosis test and a psychiatric evaluation.

Using customized detox protocols, each patient's detox is overseen by our Chief of Medical Services, a Board Certified Addictionologist and Family Practice Physician. Each patient starting their detoxification is medically monitored every four hours for the first 24 hours and when deemed medically stable by the medical staff will be transferred to their primary care unit to begin their program.
